Dana Hellman holds a Ph.D. in Earth, Environment & Society from Portland State University. Her work addresses environmental topics spanning climate change risk and adaptation, environmental health, resource management, and planning. She delights in making unexpected connections and synthesizing information across fields, and takes an interdisciplinary approach to research and analysis, drawing upon complementary practices from social and environmental sciences. An experienced social scientist, she centers the human dimensions of socio-ecological issues in her work, utilizing mixed methods and community-engaged research techniques.
Dana currently serves as Resilience Manager at CAPA Strategies, a climate adaptation consultancy. She works with local government and non-profit clients to investigate communities’ experiences of climate change and develop place-based solutions.
